Moscow seeks to build a strategic partnership with African nations, President Putin said at the Russia-Africa Parliamentary Conference in Moscow. He expressed confidence that the continent will be one of t the leaders of the emerging multipolar world.
The conference, which kicked off yesterday, brought together representatives from 40 nations. Putin also added that African nations continue to increase their role in international affairs, asset themselves more confidently in global politics and economy, hence Russia’s increased involvement in African affairs.
“We are ready to jointly shape the global agenda, work together to strengthen fair and equal interstate relations, and improve mechanisms for mutually beneficial economic cooperation,” he said, describing African nations as Russia’s “friends in the full sense of this word.”
With this conference, Moscow seeks to continue building strategic partnerships with Africa, while multiple Russian state-owned and private companies actively participate and invest in the continent.
